Kate's Ghost Friend

Kate has a ghost friend. I don't know if this is Jack (the ghost who hung out in the boys' room), or a new entity. She just refers to him as her "ghost friend."

I'll also tell you that on Sunday night Kate came into my room. The lights were out as I was alone in bed reading (only the light from my tablet was on). Doug was in the basement. She started to get in my bed, but stopped and looking into the darkness said, "Why's he in here?" And I asked, "Who?" And she answered, "That boy over there! What's he doing in here?"

Aaaah...so I promptly hopped out of bed and turned the light on. I asked her if she was talking about Flash Gordon (he was also on the bed). I hoped to everything holy that she was talking about that damn cat.

She just changed the subject and crawled on into bed. Like she wasn't the creepiest child on earth.

Anyway, remember the other day when I posted the picture below on Facebook? Kate on the swing. She had asked me if I would push her ghost friend.

Doug took that picture and adjusted the contrast and brightness to try to see if anything was there. Below are the results. Pay attention to the ladder. Also, please send over a Priest.

Jonas's Friend, Jack

You all know how much we love Halloween. And you know that we appreciate a good horror story. But friends, things are getting real at the Halloween House.

Jonas has a friend. His name is Jack. He is not a school friend. He sees him in the doorway and sometimes through the window. He goes to the trampoline with him.

Jack is a big boy. He's 16. He wears a green shirt.

Jack can clap his hands and make the lights turn dark blue. And sometimes when Jonas turns off the lights, Jack climbs up to the ceiling.

Y'all. I've survived bats and snakes, but I don't know if I can survive Jack. This might be the part in the movie where we get the hell out of dodge.

Ghosts

Remember when I indirectly tore Doug's eye open the other morning when I thought I saw a ghost? Well, ever since then, I can't stop thinking about them. I used to think I'd be cool with seeing a friendly ghost, but nowadays, I'm not so sure I could handle it. Even the thought of Casper gives me the shivers (save Casper [the real boy] from the 1995 classic movie of the same name; I totally loved him).

You already know about my fear of the monster under the bed, well the fear has just gotten worse since the ghost sighting. I am ashamed to admit it, but sometimes, by the light of my cellular phone, I check the closet and under the bed before I can safely crawl under the covers. Even then, I'm uneasy. Every time I close my eyes, I have this vision of a witchy woman coming for my soul like that crazy broad in Drag Me to Hell.

Sometimes at night, I watch the boys sleep via the camera in their nursery. I know, right? I'm as creepy as the witch broad. Anywho, last night I was watching and I swear I saw an orb! For those of you who do not have a husband whose favorite show is Ghost Adventures, an orb is an unexplained, typically circular flash of light that is a supernatural phenomenon letting you know that an invisible spirit, ghost, angel, etc is hanging out near whatever you photographed with your camera. Luckily, Doug was upstairs and went into the nursery about the same time I saw that ghost, so all was well. (Julian had woken up, and Doogie went to rock him.)

This got me to thinking. What would I do if a ghost tried to mess with my boys? I'd have no other alternative but to squash my fear and channel my inner Winchester and kill (again) some ghosts. Another good use for my cast iron skillet.
