A Day in Pictures (Friday at 125)

When I returned to work from maternity leave, I started a new work schedule. Before, Tuesdays and Thursdays were my favorite days because those were my days at home. Now, I work a little more, and my only weekday off is Friday. Since I've only got one day, I've got to make a point to live it up with my dudes and little lady.

That being said, living it up is hard to do in the winter time. We're confined to 125. Moreover, since temps have been BELOW ZERO, we're confined to a couple of rooms at 125. Old houses are hard to heat, folks. Close up those pocket doors and huddle together to keep warm!

We got along pretty well anyhow. Here's a few pictures from our Friday.

Waking up the dudes. One was happy, one...not so much.
You see, Mom, I can't sleep in my bed, it's a road for my cars!
The little hobbits enjoy their first breakfast: muffins and milk!
Trying to hoodwink Dad into staying at home.
Styling and watching Looney Toons.
Monster!
Getting some work done in his office (aka the closet).
Channeling their inner Bob Ross.
Playing with a cauldron of dried macaroni. What? Is that weird?
Taking a call on his banana phone.
Perfecting her spit bubble game.
Tummy time!
Feeling fancy.
Brrrr.
Snuggling with Uncle Dacian.

Monster looks so tiny in her crib.

Three Babies

As you may have noticed, I have been increasingly absent from blogging for the past six months or so. Why is that? Well, friends, the answer is simple: I have three babies.

People often ask, "How is it with the twins (2.5 years old) and the baby (4 months old)?"

I'll be frank.

It's hell, ladies and gents. Exhausting, frustrating, stressful, and extremely difficult.

Comedian Jim Gaffigan summed it up nicely when asked a similar question about life with lots of babies, "Imagine you're drowning. Then, someone hands you a baby."

He could not be more accurate.

But at the same time, life with three babies is overwhelmingly wonderful. There are no words to describe the way my heart feels when I get home from work and see those little faces light up with joy at seeing their Mama. Oh, and how sweet the sound of little voices saying the simplest of greetings, "Hi, Mom." And nothing in this big old world feels better than those tiny arms draped around my neck, and a little head on my shoulder.

Yep, it's hard, and some days I just want to hide in bed, but every night I give hugs and kisses and snuggles and lots of love. And I get it all back times three.

Remember When (Warning: Strong Language)

"Hey, Carol, bring us back some good-looking firemen!"
Remember when we wrote that rap song, Kitty in a Basket? We still need to make our music video and drop that joint!

Remember that time Carol dressed up like Cupid and upon request, brought back Fire Fighters to join the party?

Remember when we found out books suck ass?!?

Remember when we got a little carried away with the tequila in my pantry and ended up singing Bocephus at the top of our lungs whilst dancing?

Remember when you force fed that cupcake to Kevy? The same night he played Edward 40 hands and everyone refused to help him pee.

Remember the first time we watched Thankskilling? "Nice tits, bitch!"

Remember when BC ran away and I sunk into a deep, deep depression?
New Year's Eve 2010.

Remember when I nearly broke my toe pretending to sunbathe like a lizard in the pool in Mexico?

Remember when we went to that kick ass Styx concert?

Speaking of concerts, remember, "Take a picture of me and my bitches!"

Remember the Bacon King and all of our NYE shenanigans?

Hey, remember that time when we were in the Frisch's drive-thru and that woman tried to cut us off, and you almost cut her?

Remember the best fortune in a fortune cookie EVER? "What's that in your eye? A sparkle!"

Remember when I told you I was having twins? "YOU'RE SHITTIN' ME!"

If only we would've recorded the great Marty fiasco.
We'd be YouTube celebrities, for sure.
Oh, oh, remember when Marty drove ole dude's boat into the dock? "I'll tell you why he did it, he's high, that's why!"

Remember when I almost broke my neck trying to do a front flip onto the bed on the cruise ship?

Remember the Marie Antoinette doll?

Ahhh. Those are fun memories.

When He Loved Me

People, have you ever noticed how messed up Disney movies are? They are really depressing, even the funny ones. Take for example, Toy Story 2.

Remember that scene with Jessie the Cowgirl's back story? In case you do not have children that force you to watch Toy Story 1, 2, and 3 at least 900 times a day, the scene I am referencing features a little doll whose owner grows up, no longer wants her,  and thus drops the little doll off in a cardboard box in the middle of freaking nowhere for donation. All the while, Sarah McLachlan (the same woman who sings about 1-eyed puppies and 3-legged, malnourished cats) sings the most dispiriting song imaginable about how horribly lonely life is when no one loves you.

This scene/song tears my heart out because it makes me think about what may happen to little Poss when Julian grows up.

"When somebody loved me, everything was beautiful. Every hour we spent together lives within my heart. When he loved me."

Don't wake the babies! A photo journal of 3 sleepy babies.

Jules fell asleep whilst playing with his trucks. Poss is t tucked under his head as his pillow.
Hard times for a guy who no longer naps.
Figure 4 cuddles.
Wild night with Grammy.
Cats, although annoying as hell, can still serve a purpose.
Another late night with Grammy.
The holidays are exhausting.
Why sleep on beds when we have a perfectly good pallet?
Hey! That baby isn't sleeping!
Knight life. Get it? Cause he has a sword.
They're brothers, identical brothers of a kind. They walk alike, they talk alike. You could lose your mind!
Some light reading before sleeping.
No words.
They love each other!
Imagine this in your belly.
